A Years Worth

I laughed this morning when Walter realized that today was New Years Eve. I guess it snuck up on him too. So, as my house is (temporarily) quiet, I get a chance to reflect on this amazing year as it comes to a close.

2009 was the year we sold our house in two days. We put a bid on a new house and moved into an apartment while our new house was under constructiton.

In March, a very special and most amazing little boy was born. My little surrogate baby, Ben. He's now toddling around his house and bringing much joy to his family.

We moved into our new house in July. Being out of the apartment, even though we were only there for six months, was a tremendous relief. The kids have lots of space to run and play. And we've been able to host and cook for many of our friends.  The kitchen is truly the heart of our house.

We had been saving for a while to take a big trip to Disney World. In August, we took a weeklong trip to Florida and a mini trip to the coast to see the beach. We had an awesome time and the kids (big kid included) are already wanting to go back.

Chloe started kindergarten this year. She hasn't learned much since she can already read, add, and subtract, but she enjoys it.

Our holidays have been beautiful and blessed. We hosted a large crowd for Thanksgiving. Our CHRISTmas season has been filled with family, food, and traditions. So here we are facing a new year.  We have our friends from Kansas here to help us ring it in.

This year has been blessed beyond belief.  Really.  Our Rock and Provider has given us much cause to celebrate this year. Tonight, some will be celebrating the coming of a new year, a fresh start, a chance to make things better. Tonight, I will also be celebrating what I have. A year cannot be better than the one where God is with us. May 2010 be the year God is with you.
