Coming to Fruition

Speaking of fruit, look how cute Chloe’s Spring Performance photo turned out.  If you could bring an apple to life….

I am excited to announce that I probably won’t be online for several weeks because we’re closing on Friday!!!  This one came down to the wire by an even smaller margin than the sale of our first house. We did our walk-through two weeks ago and as of last night, I think everything is solved to our satisfaction.  We do the final walk-through tomorrow and then close on Friday.

Andrew and Haylee are coming down from Kansas and they’ll help us get our stuff out of storage on Saturday. Our movers aren’t available until Sunday, so we’ll have to wait to have our furniture in the new house. But the company, Ranger Moving, did such a great job getting us out of the first house, I think they’re worth waiting for. I suppose it gives me an extra day to pack too.

Chloe lost her second tooth. Just like the first one, though, she already had the mature tooth growing up behind the baby tooth before it was even loose.  If that happens with her top two teeth, I guess she won’t have to go through that awkward phase of having no teeth there.  And I won’t have to hear anyone sing the All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth song to her.  I hated that. On the down side of it, her mouth is just too small for those two big teeth there, so I surely foresee orthodontia for her.

She just finished two weeks of ballet camp that she really enjoyed.  But this weekend, she asked me, “Mommy, do I have ballet again on Monday?” I told her, no, ballet camp was over and we have a break from ballet until the fall.  So she asked if she could finally have her hair cut to her shoulders.  (We’d been growing it out so it would fit in a bun.)  So, I conceded and cut her hair just past her shoulders. She loves it and I have to admit, it is kind of cute.  But I cut it a tad too short to get it in a bun anymore, so we’ll have to see what we can do in the fall.

For the past two years, we’ve been planning a Disney vacation.  We decided to wait until Chloe was old enough to appreciate it, but then came Roman and we decided to wait a little longer until he was old enough also.  I also wanted to stay at a Disney resort, so we had to save up for that too.  Well, the stars are finally in alignment on it and we’re really going! We’ve booked airfare for August right before school starts again.

Walter and I were talking about it at dinner the other night. So far, we’ve been real vague when talking about it, but I slipped the other day and mentioned the “D” word. Chloe popped out of her chair and said, “DISNEY!!” She ran to her room, grabbed her little suitcase, and in a flash loaded it with EVERY PIECE OF CLOTHING SHE OWNS. She dragged the suitcase heaping with her belongings out to the living room. I felt so bad to tell her we weren’t going right now.  We do plan not really tell the kids when we are going.  We’re just going to wake them up one morning and say, “Lets’ go to Disney today!” Hopefully, we can get their reaction on video.
