He was irked by the problem all day yesterday and sent me an instant message at work complaining that Excel was giving him fits. He tried going into VB to write his own function because he couldn't get it to do what he wanted. When we got home, he was telling me about it, and I laughed and said, "You know, the sad part is that I think that if I sat down and looked at it, I could probably solve it in less than ten minutes."
He took me up on the challenge. He replicated his dataset and had me automate an interpolated value between a series of x,y values.
Done. Five minutes. Done!
I can be an engineer.
